Oncology social workers help individuals navigate the challenges that may arise during treatment, including emotional stress, financial concerns, transportation needs, access to community programs, and lifestyle changes such as smoking cessation. They work alongside your care team to ensure you have the support, information, and guidance needed to manage daily life while focusing on your health. Social workers are trained to help patients cope with the emotional impact of cancer, provide therapeutic counseling, connect with support programs, understand available financial assistance, and identify resources that promote wellbeing.
