I chose to pursue gynecologic oncology because I recognized that a cancer diagnosis can be one of the most difficult experiences in a woman's life - I knew I wanted to walk alongside my patients throughout that journey. My goal is to build a relationship founded on trust and open communication so that every patient feels heard, understands her diagnosis and treatment options, and feels empowered to make decisions about her health.

  ## About Me

Paulina Ramirez, MD, is a fellowship-trained gynecologic oncologist dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate care to women with gynecologic cancers and complex gynecologic conditions. She specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of ovarian, uterine, cervical, vulvar, and vaginal cancers, as well as preinvasive disease and complex pelvic masses.

Dr. Ramirez understands that cancer affects far more than a patient’s physical health—it can also profoundly affect her emotional well-being, relationships, family, and sense of self. Her practice is grounded in evidence-based medicine and centered on each patient’s individual needs, values, and goals. Through compassion, honest communication, and shared decision-making, she strives to create an environment in which patients feel comfortable asking questions and communicating openly with her and her care team.

Dr. Ramirez works closely with medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, genetic counselors, nurses, patient navigators, and other specialists to develop individualized, multidisciplinary treatment plans. Her approach balances the best available cancer treatment with each patient’s personal priorities, quality of life, and fertility considerations when appropriate.

Dr. Ramirez earned her medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso and her fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.

Originally from West Texas, Dr. Ramirez is proud of her roots and understands the important roles that family, culture, and trust play throughout a patient’s cancer journey. As a bilingual physician, she is honored to care for patients in both English and Spanish. She is excited to serve women and families throughout North Texas and provide them with exceptional, personalized cancer care.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Ramirez loves spending time with her husband, son, and pup. She also enjoys trying new recipes, dancing, and visiting museums.
