Janelle Ashmore, APRN, MSN, FNP-C, OCN

“My passion in Oncology is keeping up with the latest treatment advances so that patients can focus on fighting cancer. I believe in treating every woman like I want my mother, sister, and daughter to be treated. I am fortunate as a Nurse Practitioner to work alongside physicians that share my same goals.”

Janelle earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Nursing from the UT Arlington College of Nursing and Health Innovation. She is a certified Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). She was awarded multiple academic and merit scholarships including the Allan Saxe Award, and the Oncology Nursing Foundation Educational Scholarship. She graduated on the President’s Honor Roll in her associate’s program and Top 7.5% as an undergraduate. She is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
Many patients who have been with North Texas Gynecologic Oncology will recognize Janelle as a familiar face. She worked with Dr Alan Munoz and Dr Thomas Heffernan as a staff nurse for 10 years
prior to obtaining her Nurse Practitioner license. She is pleased to continue providing care for these patients.

Janelle is a Dallas native. In her free time, she enjoys time with her daughter, fitness, music, a good sports game, and cheering for the Texas Longhorns!
