Jessica Shaw, APRN, AGACNP-BC

“I chose to work in oncology because of the patients. Cancer patients, during their journey, inspire me through their perseverance, perspective, and faith. My goal is to advocate and provide support for our patients and families during this chapter of their lives. The providers and resources at The Center make this challenging time a little easier. I am proud to be a part of this team of caregivers.”

Jessica Shaw, a Lubbock native, earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Nursing degrees at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, she also obtained her certification as an operating room nurse and registered nurse first assistant in surgery. Jessica now works for The Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders as a provider in the downtown Fort Worth hospitals. She brings over twenty years of nursing experience to The Center. Working in head and neck cancer, neurosurgery and surgical oncology created a passion for caring for cancer patients. During her career, Jessica has also assisted in program development including the intraoperative MRI and pediatric deep brain stimulator programs at Cook Children’s Hospital, and the enhanced surgical recovery and deep brain stimulator programs at Medical City Fort Worth. Jessica is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Texas Nurse Practitioner Association, American Nurses Association, and Sigma Theta Tau International Honors Society. In addition, Jessica is a founding member of the Advanced Practice Provider Council at Medical City Fort Worth and serves as a preceptor for new nurse practitioners and nurse practitioner students.

When not caring for her patients, Jessica enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, scuba diving, and reading.
