“I give my patients the care I would expect my own family or myself to receive. I’ve been privileged to help patients with leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma and other blood disorders for many years. Treatment for these diseases has made phenomenal progress in the last decade. There is tremendous reason to be encouraged and upbeat about the cutting-edge options offered at The Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders. It’s also a top priority to offer you support and understanding.”

Mary Ann Skiba, D.O., brings her patients more than 30 years of experience in treating leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and other blood disorders. Her interest in teaching medical students means she is among the first to know about new treatment and technology.

Dr. Skiba completed a fellowship in hematology at Oakland General Hospital in Madison Heights, Michigan. Her residency and internship were completed at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan. She earned her medical doctorate at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan.

As a consultant for Alexion, Dr. Skiba educates clinicians on rare diseases.  She is also a keynote speaker for the National Organization of Rare Diseases.  As a faculty member of the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, Dr. Skiba held the position of Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at the Dallas/Fort Worth Medical Center in Grand Prairie, Texas. She also served on the Board of Directors of Fort Worth’s Carter Blood Center and the Medical Advisory Board of Vitas.

Dr. Skiba has been honored as a Top Doctor by Fort Worth, Texas magazine for several years in a row.

She enjoys volunteering at her children’s schools, walking and board games with her family.
