Matthew J. Carlson, MD, MS, FACOG, FACS. is dedicated to providing the highest level of care for gynecologic cancer patients. He is devoted to offering every patient the best opportunity for a cure and the highest quality of life. He provides patients with a reassuring and confidence-building relationship for discussing all treatment options for each individual situation. Dr. Carlson works closely with a team of radiation oncologists, nurses, dieticians, patient navigators, and other support staff to ensure that each individual receives a customized treatment plan.

Dr. Carlson completed his Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa. His Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency was completed at The Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio. He received his Doctor of Medicine Degree at The University of Nebraska College of Medicine, Omaha, Nebraska.

Dr. Carlson is a member of the American College of Surgeons, Fellow, the American College of Clinical Oncology and the Society of Gynecologic Oncology.

Dr. Carlson has been recognized as a Top Doctor in D Magazine and Super Doctors of Texas.  Dr. Carlson has also published many research articles.

In his free time, Dr. Carlson enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and cycling. He has two sons who play travel hockey and he loves watching them develop as hockey players and young men.
