Clinical Outcomes for Plasma-Based Comprehensive Genomic Profiling Versus Standard-of-Care Tissue Testing in Advanced Non–Small Cell Lung Cancer
Nov 18, 2021
Dr. Page is excited to be the lead author of a publication that came out this week of a clinical trial was done at The Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders over several years. The Center was the top enrolling site in the world!
This study was very important in advancing lung cancer diagnosis and treatment because it proved that doing a “liquid biopsy” by drawing blood and looking at circulating tumor DNA was just as good as doing an invasive lung biopsy for standard tissue testing. We could get the same molecular DNA results to find mutations that we could give targeted cancer drugs, This study showed that the clinical outcomes were outstanding and comparable to the standard of care testing and treatment choices. Now, this is a standard viable option for lung cancer patients.
Thank you to the staff for supporting research that advances care for our patients!
All Clinics will be closed on December 24th and 25th for Christmas.
